The Bluffton Township Fire District’s training division recently certified the area’s newest firefighters in a graduation ceremony at LowCountry Community Church. Recruits logged more than 350 hours of training and many more hours studying topics ranging from fire extinguishment to auto extrication, the fire district said. “These new firefighters stand as a testament to the future of public safety and I could not be more proud of what they have already accomplished and what lays ahead for each of them,” Bluffton Fire Chief John Thompson said in a district news release.
