Fire crews from several departments battled a condominium complex fire for approximately four hours on Thursday in The Havens neighborhood at Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach before extinguishing the flames by 6:30 p.m.
According to the City of North Myrtle Beach, all residents and pets were safely evacuated from the 18-unit building.
The condos are on Catalina Drive, off the 10th hole of Barefoot Golf Resort’s Norman Course along the Intracoastal Waterway. Crews arrived at the scene at about 2 p.m.
Anita Herring was asleep when a neighbor called her to say that the building was on fire. She grabbed her purse, got her dog, made sure her neighbors were gone, then evacuated.
