Fire damages Cookeville house; firefighters save 10 animals

Fire that started from a wall heater caused $12,000 damage and threatened the lives of 10 animals inside a N. Maple Avenue house yesterday, firefighters said. It happened around 11 a.m. Wednesday at 303 N. Maple, the home of Doris Kendall. She was away at work when a fire started in her living room from a wall heater, Cookeville Fire Department Capt. Matt White said.
