Fire threatened a beloved Nashville meat and three overnight, but quick work from firefighters kept the flames from spreading. Arnold’s Country Kitchen was filled with smoke soon after midnight when cooking oil caught fire, according to Nashville Fire spokeswoman Kim Lawson. Lawson said a fryer had been left on after the restaurant closed. The first firefighters to the scene forced their way through the front door and stopped the fire before it spread, Lawson said. They had cleared the building within an hour. Smoke wasn’t enough to close Arnold’s, though. The restaurant will be open and serving sugar cured ham and meat loaf today.
