Major fire in Southeast Memphis causes damage to multiple families

Two separate families are in need for help after a fire in Southeast Memphis. The fire happened in the 2400 block of Ketchum road. FOX13 was told by both families they almost lost everything. The roof at the Willow Oak Apartments is severely damaged. Residents are still trying to salvage any items that they can, but luckily no one was hurt. MFD told FOX13 two families and a total of three adults and 11 children are in need of red cross assistance. The fire started just before 2 p.m. and took firefighters 11 minutes to get the fire under control. MFD said the cause of the fire is under investigation, but told FOX13 it does seem to be electrical.
