The Knoxville Fire Department has brought under control a two-alarm blaze at Bell Walker's Crossing apartments, 8351 Block House Way, off Gallaher View Road.
The fire was reported around 10 a.m., according to an E-911 dispatcher.
Fire investigators said the fire appears to have started on a third-floor patio balcony. An investigator offered no early speculation on the cause of the fire, although he did note that there was no grill on the balcony.
The resident of the apartment where the fire started was not home at the time.
