Corpus Christi firefighters lay down a boom to stop an oily substance from reaching into the Corpus Christi Ship Channel. The source of the liquid leaving an oily sheen on the surface of a drainage ditch is not known as of 2pm Monday. But fire crews tracked it back to the ditch along Port Avenue near Whataburger Field. The Coast Guard was called in to investigate further.
