Fire ripped through a home on the East Side Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters were called to a home on the 1000 block of H Street, near Interstate 10 and Pecan Valley Drive, around 6 p.m. At one point, the San Antonio Fire Department's Active Fire Incidents' web page showed 11 units had been sent to the scene. Fire officials believe that children playing with a lighter in one of the rooms started the fire. Everything inside the home is a total loss. No injuries were reported. Estimates put the damage around $30K.
