Investigators are looking into what caused a fire at a home on the southwest side that sent two people to the hospital. It happened in the 200 block of Hallie Pass just off Ray Ellison Boulevard around three Sunday morning. "Yeah it was pretty crazy," said Loren Knight, who has lived in the neighborhood for about a year. That's how Knight described the scene that unfolded Sunday morning, as smoke billowed out of the house right next door. "It was lit up like Christmas out here," said Knight. Several fire trucks, police, and EMS responded to this house in the 200 block of Hallie Pass. Firefighters say seven people were inside when the fire started in the living room and kitchen. As the flames spread, Knight's attention turned to his four young children. "Their bedroom is right next to the house and all the smoke is billowing out of their garage door," said Knight. Once his children were in safe place, Knight and other neighbors did what they could to help the seven people who were in the home. "We got them some water and stuff like that and try to comfort them as best we could," said Knight.
