Bexar County fire officials are warning of a critical fire danger as a strong cold front brings gusty winds to the area on Thursday. The front will move through the area during the lunch hour, setting up windy conditions for the afternoon. Some wind gusts could reach up to 50 miles per hour! "Although we have had some wet weather, this has caused an abundance of grass and woody grow. The recent freezing temperatures have killed this growth and turned them into fuel sources for fire. I advise all residents to be diligent and careful to avoid any activities that may spark a fire," stated Bexar County Fire Marshal Chris Lopez. Because the fire’s temperature was so intense, May says it “could be awhile” before they can safely say the fire is completely out. Three people were inside the home at the time, and everyone was able to get safely out of the home. No one was hurt.
