To better address the needs of their communities in challenging times, Carrollton Fire Rescue and the Addison, Coppell and Farmers Branch Fire Departments have joined forces and implemented several regional programs to improve the overall service delivery to all of their jurisdictions.
The Texas Fire Chiefs Association jointly awarded the four departments the 2017 Lone Star Achievement Award for their initiatives on Monday. The award is given for implementing an innovative and progressive program that enhances a community’s fire and life safety services delivery.
The four departments share the award for their regional work which established a joint fire training facility, a consolidated dispatch center and a combined digital radio system to support 16 fire stations and cover a population of approximately 250,000.
