Laredo police are investigating a motorcycle crash Sunday that left a Laredo firefighter dead. The Laredo Police Department said a vehicle may have hit Rolando Solis, 37, and fled the scene. The crash occurred at about 1:30 a.m. as Solis was riding a motorcycle in the 2700 block of south Interstate 35. Police said they tracked down the driver of a vehicle whose license plate was found at the scene. No charges have been brought as the case remains under investigation. "They're still investigating the factors that led to the accident," said Investigator Joe Baeza, LPD spokesman. The Webb County Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy on Solis as per procedure. Solis was a 16-year member of the Fire Department and president of the Laredo Fire Fighters Local 872. Condolences poured in following his death.
