Paris Fire Chief Larry Wright is ready to hang his fire hat and start a new chapter in life.
A firefighter for nearly 40 years, Wright has been with Paris Fire Department for nearly six years. He said he has noticed a “tremendous change” from when he started to now.
“The equipment used has improved dramatically,” he said. “PFD is more modernized. Tactics and techniques have also been changed. For example, I was the first fire chief hired from the outside and that has been a large part of the modernization. I have been able to look at the department from experiences I had with other departments. I offered different ways of approach.”
Wright said he will miss the camaraderie he has had with the firefighters, but is looking forward to spending more time with his grandchildren.
