First responders training to help themselves through tragedy with peer support training, and one firefighter in particular who said this training helping him move on from a major tragedy. Carlos Cardenas has seen a lot in his 18 years as a firefighter. "Car wrecks, families caught in car wrecks is always one that sticks in my brain." Cardenas said. None as vivid as the memory of Scott Deem, a 31 year old who died in the line of duty almost one year ago to the day. "I remember seeing him through training, I was supposed to be on duty that night myself and my crew.. one of the guys had a scanner on his phone, that's how connected we are when we're off duty.” Cardenas said.
