While being in charge of a major city’s Fire Department is enough work for most people, Sachse Fire Chief Martin “Marty” Wade somehow finds time to serve as a Kiwanis Club advisor to a newly-formed Builders Club at Hudson Middle School.
Builders Club is the largest service organization for middle school and junior high students, with more than 45,000 members worldwide. Hudson Middle School is in the Garland Independent School District, but is located in Sachse, and the vast majority of its students are residents of Sachse.
A member of the Sachse, Murphy, Wylie Kiwanis Club, Wade has been Chief in Sachse since January 2016, following a distinguished career with the Plano Fire Department.
