A four-year-old and a two-year-old are dead after a Wednesday afternoon fire in Rusk County.
The cause is still under investigation.
It's a parent's worst nightmare, some may even say it's the unthinkable, two children dying in a fire.
At 4:30 on Wednesday afternoon a fire started at a mobile home, multiple agencies responded.
Two Rusk County deputies were among the first to arrive.
Knowing full well the dangers in front of them, the two deputies turned caution to the wind and entered the burning home.
"They were unable to find them on the first trip," said Sheriff Jeff Price. "They went back in on a second trip and Crims Chapel Fire Department showed up and two of their firefighters went in with them on the second trip and firefighters were able to locate the children in a bedroom underneath a bed."
