The Amarillo Fire Department has responded to a fire at the Atmosphere Soul Food Cafe in north Amarillo. According to firefighters on scene, a crew spotted the fire at about 1:45 p.m. at 804 N. Washington Street. Within four minutes, six units were on scene battling the fire. The building was fully involved when crews arrived. Firefighters are unable to fight the fire from inside so they are battling it defensively from the outside. No one was inside the building at the time the fire started. It is unknown whether there were any smoke detectors inside the building. Crews have closed Washington Street from Amarillo Boulevard while they fight the fire.
