The Bovina Volunteer Fire Department upgraded its decades-old fire truck for a brand new piece of equipment.
The new truck is a major purchase for the group and will help crews put out fires faster.
Bovina VFD Fire Chief, Cesar Marquez, said he has needed this piece of equipment for a long time.
"We've got a brand new truck and a brand new pump that doesn't leak," said Marquez. "The ladder, which comes down, will be helpful because of all the growth that's in the county."
The new ladder on the truck will allow the fire department to reach fires that previously, they could not.
"There's a lot of industrial buildings around here." said Marquez. "We've got Sweet Bran a mile down the road, they have high buildings."
