Utah County sheriff investigators say a fire chief was assaulted by a homeowner during a house fire in the small town of Cedar Fort located west of Eagle Mountain. The home went up in flames just before midnight on Sunday and firefighters from the volunteer fire department cedar fort arrived on scene, followed by crews from the Unified Fire Department. Sgt. Spencer Cannon said the homeowner and the man who was renting the home were both intoxicated and ended up in handcuffs before the night was over. Cannon said during the blaze the homeowner, "shoved the Cedar Fort fire chief to the ground," and then, he said, the man who was renting the house, got upset at firefighters. But Luke Holmes and his wife Crystal, who are renting the home and say they lost everything, said the whole incident is being blown out of proportion and neither men deserve any kind of charges against them. "All we were doing was helping," said Luke Holmes.
