PHOTO: A cabin and two vehicles were consumed in a blaze Wednesday afternoon in Provo Canyon that reportedly started from a malfunctioning barbecue grill. According to Janet Carson with the Wasatch County Fire District, the fire was reported at about 2 p.m. Carson said a caretaker of a cabin in the Canyon Meadows subdivision in Wasatch County had been tending to the cabin and started the barbecue grill. The grill malfunctioned and caught fire. The fire quickly spread through the garage and into the house. Carson said it was likely about 10 minutes before 911 was called by a neighbor who could smell the smoke. By the time firefighters arrived on scene the cabin, a passenger vehicle and an all-terrain vehicle were fully involved. While firefighters were unable to save the house, they did protect another neighboring residence from any fire damage.
