A wildfire broke out and has charred more than 10,000 acres near Interstate 80 by Utah's Test and Training Range in the remote part of southwest Tooele County last Thursday night. At around 10:30 p.m. North Tooele Fire District crews responded to a report of a brush fire north of mile marker 62 on I-80. When crews arrived they learned the blaze had been going on since Wednesday's lightning storm. A lightning strike ignited brush on Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR) property (which is halfway between Dugway and Wendover and south of I-80).
