Several cats were killed after an overloaded power tap caused a fire at a Weber County home early Saturday morning. At 12:12 a.m. Saturday, Weber Fire District crews were called to a structure fire at 2375 S 4300 West where a fire had started on the second level of the home, according to a post on Weber Fire’s Facebook page. The home’s occupants evacuated and were unharmed by the fire. Several of the owner’s pet cats, however, did not survive. Firefighters from Weber, Roy and Ogden battled the fire for several hours before it was extinguished.
