Two workers who were critically injured in a lightning strike Tuesday are now in stable condition and are expected to recover, according to a construction company spokesman. The pair was injured about 8 a.m. at a job site near 3570 S. Market St. in what Layton Construction Company spokesman Alan Rindlisbacher said was a “highly unusual” lightning strike. “Most of all we’re happy that the workers are in stable condition and it looks like they will recover,” Rindlisbacher said. He said crews sometimes continue working through inclement weather. Lightning strikes during a snowstorm are highly uncommon, he added.
