Just a month and a half into the new year and Garland City is moving forward with a few new purchases and planning for upcoming improvements in their neighborhoods and in the parks department. On Feb. 7, the Garland City Council met to discuss a few purchases including a new truck that will double as a snowplow and dump truck that will service several different departments in the city. The city was able to find a truck through Utah Department of Transportation’s surplus property for just over $12,000. The truck is a 2000 model and will help the water, sewer and streets departments. The council had already set aside money for the truck and came in under budget with the purchase.
