Fire damaged a family-owned business in South Salt Lake Thursday morning.
Crews responded to a fire at electronic parts and supplies company Ra-Elco, 2780 S. Main St., just before 6 a.m.
The fire collapsed the roof of the building, making it difficult for crews to fight the flames, fire officials said. No one was inside at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
The store has been in business on Main Street since 1984, according to co-owner Robert Gunnell. He said he was headed to work when he received a call about the fire.
"It's devastating news, but we'll see what we can do with insurance and so forth to get back going again, maybe," Gunnell added.
