Joe Vera's, a Mexican restaurant in downtown Provo, caught fire on Tuesday morning. The blaze started at 6:30 a.m. because of a blown transformer int eh alley behind Oregano Italian Kitchen. The fire, located at 250 W. Center Street, spread slightly into the inside of the building, but mostly into the attic space. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire "pretty quickly," according to Capt. Dean York of the Provo City Fire Department. The fire did not affect any other nearby buildings. Police shut down Center Street between 300 and 100 West. Estimated time of re-opening is 9:00 a.m.
