A medical issue caused a Southwest flight bound for Salt Lake City to make an emergency landing Sunday afternoon in Ogden. The flight, which was coming from San Jose, California, was in a holding pattern because of bad weather in Salt Lake for nearly an hour waiting to land at the Salt Lake International Airport when a pregnant woman passed out on the flight, according to Ogden-Hinckley Airport manager Jon Greiner. The flight crew was forced to land in Ogden around 4:15 p.m. so the woman could receive medical attention, Greiner said. Paramedics and fire crews were waiting for the plane when it landed in Ogden, according to Ogden Fire Chief Mike Mathieu. Once the woman was taken to the hospital, the plane was grounded for roughly three hours, Mathieu said.
