(VIDEO) Eleven Hampton fire trucks responded to an incident at the Hampton VA Medical Center Monday evening that was caused by a faulty elevator shaft. Firefighters were called to the main part of the hospital at 100 Emancipation Drive about 7:40 p.m., said Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Anthony Chittum. An alarm alerted crews to smoke in the building, but there was no fire, Chittum said. No one needed to be evacuated from the building either, he said. Crews were clearing the scene about 9:20 p.m.
