(VIDEO) An apartment building in Berryville caught fire Sunday evening, and now several families have been displaced due to the damages. They were seen huddling together as they watched firefighters extinguish the blaze. Crews were alerted to the fire around 7 p.m. on the 200-block of Cameron Street, and said that it originated in a bedroom in a third-floor apartment. "[Firefighters] made a real nice, aggressive interior attack to hold it to the apartment of origin," said Frank Davis, director of fire and rescue for Clarke County. One apartment sustained significant fire damages, while two adjacent apartments also suffered smoke and water damage. "The whole complex may be shut down for the evening,” Davis added, “because we had to shut water down to the rest of the complex." All families in the building won't be able to return to their homes until Monday morning, but for the three that sustained damage, it might take several days. "No injuries from firefighters,” Davis remarked, “or civilians, so that's a good thing." Departments from Clarke, Frederick and Jefferson counties, as well as Winchester, answered the call. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
