A log cabin in Greene County was destroyed by a raging fire, Wednesday night.
The fire broke out around 5:30 p.m. on Snow Mountain Road near Dyke.
Fire officials say there was a family inside of the home at the time, but they were able to make it out safely.
The fire was so large at one point, it was visible from several miles away.
The log cabin is considered a total loss. The roof collapsed a few hours after the fire began, and firefighters said the safest decision was to allow the fire to burn itself out.
Firefighters say they are not sure what caused the fire.
