Fire tore through Ike’s Underground Vintage Clothing on the 400 block of East Main Street Wednesday, causing a major upheaval at lunch time. The good news is that no one was hurt but Charlottesville fire officials say at least three businesses will feel the effects. Crews got the call at 11:45 Wednesday morning. Ike Eichling, the owner of Ike’s Underground Vintage Clothing, says the blaze broke out in his basement store. Neighboring business workers described smoke filling their workplaces. City fire and police along with rescue squad members evacuated all the buildings in the area while setting up a perimeter to keep pedestrians from passing through. "The fire was quickly put out and we're now overhauling looking for hidden fires,” said Captain Joe Phillips of the Charlottesville Fire Department.
