A fire is under investigation in Nelson County, after several fire and emergency crews from Nelson County and Amherst County had to respond to a lumber fire at Truman Tye River LLC. According to the Lovingston Fire Department, a call came in around 5:45 p.m. Friday about a brush fire.
Crews responding to the business on Thomas Nelson Highway in Arrington reported a large fire in the lumber yard of the business.
Several back-up units were called because of the lack of water near the yard.
Eventually, all the fire departments from Nelson County were dispatched as were several emergency units in Amherst County.
In total, the Lovingston Fire Department says about 50 personnel were working the scene from 20 different emergency apparatus.
