Violent storms, some containing baseball-size hail, swept through Halifax County late Wednesday afternoon, causing damage in several areas, particularly the Cluster Springs Road and Bold Springs Road corridors in southern Halifax County, according to Halifax County Emergency Services Coordinator Chad Loftis.
Reports started coming in to Halifax Emergency Services Wednesday afternoon regarding dangerous storms approaching Halifax County, with Halifax County’s Civic Ready System sending alerts to registered residents, according to Loftis.
“The first calls coming in to 911 were concerning baseball size hail near Cluster Springs,” said Loftis, who responded to the area to check for damage.
