A D.C. firefighter is recovering after a group of people assaulted him at a home in Southeast. A spokesperson for D.C. Fire and EMS told News4 firefighters responded to a call in the 200 block of 37th Streets SE about noon Sunday. Four or five people at the home assaulted one of the firefighters. More fire units responded to the call and took the firefighter to a local hospital, where he is recovering from his injuries. His injuries were mostly cuts and scrapes, the spokesperson said. There is no word yet on why the people assaulted him. A police report has been filed, according to the spokesperson.
