The oldest member of the Covington Fire Department and a long-time area businessman has died.
Grover Clarence “G.C.” Fawley Jr., 91, of Covington, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at LewisGale Medical Center, Salem.
He was the husband of Barbara Williams Fawley.
G.C. was born Oct. 13, 1926, in Elkton, the son of the late Grover Clarence Fawley and Remecca Little Fawley.
He graduated from Covington High School.
