Henley, Howard Hamilton, 92, of Manakin-Sabot, Va., passed away on December 12, 2017. He was born on July 30, 1925. He is survived by his wife, Eva Briesmaster Henley; two sisters, Edith Durrett and Hilda Bailey; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Mr. Henley graduated from Goochland High School in 1943. He volunteered for the Marine Corps that year and served proudly until his honorable discharge in 1946. One of the original men who formed the Goochland County Volunteer Fire Department, Mr. Henley served as Chief for five years. He was a life member of the Virginia Fire Chiefs Association, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
