The Monelison Volunteer Fire Department said goodbye to their chief Sunday. Chief Ernest "Ernie" Cash retired after serving the county for 45 years. According to the department's Facebook page, Cash spent "countless hours" growing the department. "What a legacy one man leaves behind. We say Thank You to Ernie and wish him the very best in his retirement," the Facebook post reads. The Monelison Volunteer Fire Department also retired Cash's number, MVFD 137.
