Two firefighters are dealing with minor injuries after a vacant house caught fire in Lynchburg Tuesday morning. The house is on Polk Street. The street was closed for a time but has reopened. One of the firefighters was taken to the hospital with shortness of breath, but is doing fine, according to the fire marshal's office. Another firefighter also had minor injuries. Both are at Lynchburg General Hospital. No citizens were hurt. The house had been vacant for several years.The cause has not been determined, but fire investigators are looking into the possibility that vagrants may have started the fire.
