Local children had their eyes opened to the world of emergency services, law enforcement and fire safety this week at the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Youth Camp. Sheriff Fred S. Clark said the camp was a positive project for the community that allows for children to get a taste of what fire personnel, EMS personnel and law enforcement officers do. “It also gives us the opportunity to interact with the children in a positive setting of a summer youth camp,” he added.
