A growing crisis across the nation, opioid addiction. More first responders in Lexington will be now able to save people's lives who overdose on opioid drugs. The Lexington Fire Department has been awarded a $500 grant by the Virginia Department of Health for additional doses of the drug Naloxone, or better known as Narcan. It's the antidote for opioid overdoses. "This medication could be the difference between life and death," Lexington Fire Department firefighter and paramedic James Schindler said.
