A Danville city councilman wants to create a memorial for police officers, firefighters and first responders in the city who have died in the line of duty. City Council will discuss the proposal from councilman Adam Tomer during its upcoming work session following its regular meeting Thursday night. “It would be good to do something for all of them in one location to honor what they have done,” Tomer said Tuesday. “It’s the right thing to do to honor those who lost their lives protecting ours.” Tomer said he hopes for a public/private partnership to pay for the project. The possible location for a memorial and how far back in history it would go will likely be discussed during the work session, Tomer said.
