Members of the Danville Fire Department greeted Walmart customers at the door on Saturday morning to collect money to purchase school supplies for children before the new year starts on Thursday for their second Stuff the Fire Truck project. Last year was the first year that the fire department decided that they wanted to help, and it was a huge success. “We’re trying to get everything that students need on the list,” Danville Fire Marshal Shelby Irving said. “Walmart has been so gracious to let us stand out front every year.We help them and they help us and the children of the City of Danville get helped as well.” Irving explained that members of the Danville Fire Department will be at Walmart’s front doors next Saturday as well.
