Training to keep emergency medical services certifications up to date is more than knowing how to do CPR, load someone onto a gurney and deliver them to a hospital.
During a three-day series of classes held at the Danville Life Saving Crew’s training center over the weekend, attendees brushed up on topics that included prioritizing calls, stroke management, packing wounds, how to get firefighters out of their turnout gear if they are injured fighting a fire, situational awareness and a host of other topics.
About 70 members of various rescue squads attended the classes.
