Local school resource officers are already looking into policy changes in light of the tragedy at a high school in Florida after a 19-year-old former student opened fire, killing at least 17 people. At Amherst County High School, the doors stay locked besides before first and last period, and you have to ring the bell to get in the door. School Resource Officer Sergeant Lou Goldman said he used to work in the city next to Parkland, Florida. He said he feels prepared as the sole school resource officer for 1,200-1,300 students, but is already working on some improvements. One new implementation is what's called ADD.
