Six people are without a home after a fire damaged two row houses in Northwest, D.C. Monday. Firefighters responded to a 2-story row house at the 3000 block of 11th Street around 2 a.m. Officials say the fire started on a back porch at the house and spread to another home on Columbia Avenue. Smoke detectors were able to alert residents about the fire so that they could escape in time, fire officials say. A family of five and a resident of another home were displaced from the fire. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
