The Amherst fire chief spoke to us today about one of his firefighters that was recently in an accident. Justin Ware was dirt biking over the weekend when he crashed. Fire chief Tom Martin says that Ware's bike fell on him and the exhaust system burned him. Ware is now getting treatment at VCU Hospital's burn unit. Martin says Ware has been with the Amherst Fire Department for three years and they hope he can make a full recovery. "He is just a great firefighter," Amherst Fire Chief, Tom Martin said. "We are truly blessed to have a lot of younger people that are volunteering their time. It takes a certain kind of person to do that.
