Flames blackened the walls and smoke poured out of the open doors and windows of a home in North Danville on Wednesday afternoon.
Danville firefighters responded to multiple calls of a structure fire at 1320 West Thomas St. at about 1:20 p.m,, said Assistant Fire Marshal Richie Guill said.
Smoke poured out of the residence as multiple fire engines attempted to douse the flames. Fannie Parker, who works in the area, watched the blaze erupt from across the street.
“It was just blowing up so high,” she said of the smoke plumes.
The home’s sole resident, who declined to give his name, said he discovered the blaze while arriving home.
