In its Friday afternoon meeting the Ambulance Committee in Danville approved to issue a temporary permit to the company LifeCare to avoid losing ambulance services for the city and Pittsylvania County. Regional One Inc. (ROEMS) recently issued a letter stating that the company has been sold and after Sunday, it discontinued its ambulance services. Since a permit that was issued back in March of 2001, ROEMS has been the full provider of ambulance services in Danville, although ambulance services are also offered by the Danville Lifesaving Crew, and it was mentioned at the meeting that Centra Health has an ambulance as well.
