A building that lined Franklin's Main Street for a century is considered a total loss following a massive fire Thursday afternoon. The blaze started around 2:30 p.m. as a reported electrical fire at the brick building that most recently housed Trinkettes & Treasures. Crews were able to get to the scene in short order, but the fire quickly spread through the furniture store, shooting up through the roof of the building. The fire cut off power for most of downtown, and several streets were closed off as firefighters worked the building from all angles. No injuries have been reported.
