Firefighters in Roanoke County were called to fight a house fire on Monday morning. The fire was at a home in the 3300 block of View Avenue in the Cave Spring area. The call came in at 1:55 a.m. According to fire officials, two adults and two children are now displaced. They will be staying with family and the Red Cross will provide assistance. "The residents of this home were awakened by a commotion from the family pets, slightly before their smoke alarms sounded," Brian Clingenpeel said. Clingenpeel also said the fire appears to have started in the basement. The Fire Marshal's Office will investigate the official cause.
